Either Beatport or some record labels are doing this practice. They are killing themselves by doing this. Losing the few people that appreciate releases from small labels. It's quite confusing. They have the vinyl or original masters. Is it that hard to make a digital file straight from the original vinyl or masters?

I think they do it because they can probably fool the average music listener. I'm not an audiophile, but I care a lot about the quality of the music I purchase. I use programs to analyze the audio frequency to see how good the recording is. Sad thing is that digital stores like for example, Beatport or Junodownload are not doing anything about this. I contacted Beatport, they refunded me partially. I got a generic message with a cheap excuse claiming that they are not responsible about transcoded audio being sold in their website.

Believe me, it is a nightmare for people who collect rare releases like me. I waited 3 years to finally find a place to buy Only Noise - House Of Ecstasy in digital lossless format. Only to get something I can probably find on Soulseek for free. They are stealing our money.

If I had a deck to play vinyl, I would had started collecting vinyl years ago. It is the safest way to get rare music in the best quality. It is not convenient, but I will have to buy a cheap deck someday. I'm sick of people ripping me off.
