настоящее имя этого музыканта (я бы назвал его больше продюссером, чем музыкантом) Julius O'Riordan. только в конце прошлого года он выпустил свой первый(!) альбом "proven worldwide". он ведёт своё радиошоу на bbc radio 1. также он подбирал музыку к нашумевшему среди трансеров в своё время фильму "kevin & perry go large" (1999). ещё он миксовал сборник "euphoria"

“Санкт-Петербург очень красивый старинный город - одно из самых восхитительных мест, в которых мне когда-либо приходилось бывать в своих поездках. Было ещё довольно светло в 21,00, когда мы приземлились. Я играл на большой вечеринке ивенте, который назывался Dance Planet, с внушительным лайн-апом, включая моих соотечественников Above and Beyond.

После такой достаточно утомительной дороги я заехал на пару часов в отель Renaissance, чтобы пару часов поспать, после чего меня отвезли на место проведения мероприятия. Фестиваль проходил в каком-то спортивном комплексе. Я не успел определённо понять, какая музыка звучала на этом фестивале до моего выступления…Но в гримёрке перед выступлением я впервые встретил голландского хитмейкера Dj Mason. Было приятно познакомиться с ним и наконец узнать его в лицо. Хоть мы и играли с ним летом на Judgement Sundays Ibiza, но до этого момента никогда не встречались. Кстати, он оказался гораздо моложе, нежели я мог себе представить.

А на главной арене, когда я приехал в своём фирменном трансовом стиле играли Tony и Jono из Above & Beyond. Они буквально сводили с ума около 10 000 посетителей на главном танцполе. Я уже однажды выступал в Санкт-Петербурге 2 года тому назад на фестивале Planet Dance(* - Fort Dance). Тогда я играл в окружении топлесс-танцовщиц, и надо сказать это несколько мешало мне сконцентрироваться на сведении композиций. В этот раз всё было, на мой взгляд, в этом плане более продумано, потому как было очень много качественных перформансов и театральных элементов с артистами в оригинальных костюмах. И это оставило благоприятное впечетление о мероприятии.

В целом, атмосфера фестиваля была удивительной..просто потрясающей!”

Judge Jules about Russian Gatecrasher:

At midday on Friday 29th I flew to Moscow with my manager Charlie. It’s only natural that the national media in every country focuses predominantly on its local issues, but in the UK there’s no shortage of ‘World news’ coverage regarding Russia (and we’re not just talking football.) Generally speaking the UK press present a very sceptical image of Russia, its parliamentary process, and democracy in general. All I can say is that it’s a country where progress can be measured in months and not decades. To the outside world Russia seems intransigent on the foreign stage, because it doesn’t need anybody, being self sufficient in just about everything.

Bearing that in mind, it’s nice to be an imported dj, and it was my fifth visit to Russia. Moscow is a vast city of 15 million people, with three airports. Our journey into the city from Moscow Domodedovo took two hours in crawling traffic. The slow trip into the city felt all the more painful because it dramatically reduced my pre-dj’ing sleep, which was about all I’d get with a very early flight home on Saturday morning.

I was playing a 4000 capacity Gatecrasher event in a large indoor arena, and Dogzilla performed live immediately before my set. There are precious few convincing live trance acts, but Dogzilla are the real deal. Their stage show features Simon Patterson dj’ing, plus a vocalist and two guitars. Dogzilla’s performance worked because everyone in the crowd was familiar with the tunes, singing along enthusiastically with each chorus, plus the band know how to work an audience.

The night in Moscow was excellent, with many highlights. It was the first time I’d seen ‘sponsored’ dancers before. With the sponsor’s logo covering the dancers’ cleavage the sponsors’ brand was bound to be noticed. (Having said that I can’t remember what was being promoted…)

Throughout the night a confetti cannon spurted out gold and silver plastic confetti slivers, some of which landed in my drink. Drinks are never cheap in clubs and festivals, so I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who fished the bits of plastic out of their glass, continuing to drink regardless.

Having finished dj’ing at 4 in the morning, at 8am Charlie and I met in our hotel reception to fly back to the UK. There isn’t a dazzling choice of Moscow-London departures, and we had to set off early to get home in time for my Radio 1 show.

Так его выступление ТАМ КЛАССНОЕ !!!! Теперь всегда буду скачивать его сэты,

чем ещё этот диджей очень интересен, так эхто тем, что что он творит, находясь за вертилями!! целое представление!! то гвозди забивает, то двери лифта открывает, то на скрипке играет, то делает вид, что если вы не начнётся тусоваться - всем вам копец. наблюдать за ним одно удовольствие. хотя вне сцены очень спокойный и рассудительный человек. никуда не спешит, не гониться и как говориться: не загоняется.
