With Chicane's previous studio album reaching dance number one in nine territories,
the follow-up had to be... Well, in Chicane's world, it ought to be a celebration of your
greatest misses over the past few years. 'One Thousand Suns', 'No Ordinary Morning',
'Hiding All the Stars', 'Oxygen', Come Back' featuring Paul Young... All tracks that have
been tagged "I can't believe that wasn't a hit". Not by the artist, mind you, but by fans
and industry personnel. 'Greatest Misses' therefore isn't a play on a greatest hits album;
it is genuinely a slew of tracks that were either released at the wrong time or, perhaps,
a little ahead of their time, as 'Hiding all The Stars' would fit right in on mainstream radio
today. Perhaps as some of these were 'songs' with verses, bridges and choruses, the
dance community balked a wee bit. But all the finesse of a Chicane tune and production
means they deserve to be recognized and enjoyed as part of the Chicane cannon.

Люблю послушать Чикейна, один из самых любимых моих транс-диджеев.
Небо на обложке с пустой дорогой симпатично получилось.

Интересная идея, выпустить сборник песен, которые не стали хитами или прошли незамеченными.
Хотя многие выпускались синглами. В Greatest hits'ы обычно включаются синглы. Тут удачная игра слов, "hit" - "miss".
Разобрался немного, тут больше половины эдитов, укороченных версий (хотя обложка дана для Extended), есть миксы под названием "Evolution" - это которые совсем недавно появились.
Пара альтернативных версий (alternative, swung).

В общем, песни в основной массе отличаются от альбомов (другая длина), неплохое дополнение к сборнику "The Best Of 1996-2009" или "Twenty" CD2.

Выход сингла с новым Evolution-миксом на "Come back" для меня как раз удачно совпал с переслушиванием сборника Пола Янга.
Он когда-то посещал и отечественный фестиваль, Авторадио, а я как раз только что побывал на альтернативном ему - "Легенды Ретро ФМ".

Когда пролистывал альбомы, сверяя списки песен, понял, кого ещё мне Ник напоминает на обложке "Thousand mile stare" (2012) кроме Жана-Мишеля Жарра (под кого он для неё и снимался). В таком ракурсе и лохматый он мне ещё молодого Мика Джаггера немного напомнил.
